Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurse to join our client's Surgical Floor nursing teams. This role offers exceptional opportunities for personal and professional development, with access to their Learning, Education, and Development Centre, as well as a wide range of in-house learning opportunities. The Surgical Floor caters to various specialties including colorectal, gynaecology, urology, breast, vascular, and general surgery patients within a 26-bedded mixed surgical ward, admitting both emergency and elective cases.

Job Overview

Operating within both acute and community services, this role encompasses a variety of clinical areas. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, ensuring patient needs are met and driving excellence in patient care standards. Collaboration with colleagues across departments is essential to maintain continuity in patient care, while also serving as a role model for peers, patients, and their families. Additionally, you will supervise Healthcare Assistants, providing guidance and training as required.

Job Purpose

  • Demonstrate adherence to the NMC Code (2015) guidelines to maintain trust and credibility with patients, carers, and colleagues.
  • Stay updated with developments in the professional discipline, sharing knowledge and contributing to the creation of a therapeutic patient environment.
  • Maintain a professional portfolio showcasing continuous acquisition of skills, knowledge, and achievements.
  • Coordinate care for specific patients or patient groups, ensuring high-quality patient care through comprehensive care plans.
  • Enhance nursing practice through evidence-based research and participation in clinical audit, setting and maintaining clinical standards.
  • Facilitate the learning and development of junior staff, contributing to their skill enhancement and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with NMC Registration
  • Possession of or commitment to work towards a Level 2 vocational award in health and social care Teaching and Mentorship qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in general nursing
  • Thorough knowledge of NMC Code (2015)
